Description

  • gilt-splashed bronze
the straight sides rising from three rectangular feet and a stepped base to a gently flaring rim, the surface of the bronze covered in a rich toffee patina with irregular gold splashes, the base with a six-character Qianlong seal mark within a recessed rectangle

Condition

The brushpot has natural casting flaws such as minor nicks around the rim and base (measuring no larger than 0.2 x 0.2cm) and minor rubbing of the patina. There is a circa 6cm scratch to the top left corner of the reign mark at the base with other scratches measuring circa 1.5cm.
