each of baluster form, finely painted to the exterior with a peacock perched on a gnarled pine tree, accompanied by bamboo and prunus blossom, the reverse inscribed with a poem describing the painted scene and three seals, encircled around the foot with a keyfret border, the neck with a foliate scroll with pendent tendrils and gilt rim, inscribed to the base with a gilt square seal in iron-red reading Jingdezhen zhi (made in Jingdezhen)
Condition
The pair of vases is in excellent condition with the exception of very minimal burst glaze bubbles and negligible wear to the gilding at the rim.
