Description

  • jade
of rectangular form, surmounted by a pair of addorsed dragons, each powerfully carved with flaring nostrils and menacing teeth above curling whiskers, the scales and flowing mane finely incised, pierced through the centre with an aperture, the seal surface with five seal characters reading Tihe Dian yulan (Appreciated at the Hall of Embodied Harmony) framed by two pairs of dragons in pursuit of a flaming pearl, the stone of celadon tone with milky and russet inclusions

Condition

The seal is in good condition with the exception of three old nicks to the top edges (circa 3x3mm, 2x2 and 4x1mm) and some tiny nibbles to the bottom edge by the seal face.
