naturalistically shaped as a hollow tree trunk with wood knots, the exterior carved in high relief with gnarled pine trees and two cranes, one in flight and the other stretching its wings on a rocky outcrop, the stone of pale celadon tone with russet inclusions

Condition

The brushpot is in excellent condition with very minor losses on the main pine tree attached to the receptacle and tiny nibbles along the mouth rim. The stone is of a brighter and warmer celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
