standing four square with head slightly raised, the mouth pierced with a circular opening forming a spout, its face and limbs finely modelled with archaistic scrolls while a chilong with bifurcated tail clambers up its rear haunches, the tri-lobed cover surmounted by a sinuous chilong, the celadon-white stone mottled with milky inclusions and flecked with russet veining
Condition
The water dropper is in good condition with the exception of nibbling along the edges of the four feet of the animal, a 0.2 x 0.1cm nick to one ear of the chilong on the cover, and natural veining of the stone with associated flakes.
