of oval form, carved atop with a ferocious five-clawed dragon amid cloud scrolls, its lightly incised mane radiating from its head, its mouth spurting turbulent water in a ruyi-shaped well, the base inscribed with an apocryphal four-character seal mark reading Qianlong yu zhi, the stone of even pale celadon tone, wood stand
Condition
The inkstone is in excellent condition with the exception of a 0.8cm long dark grey inclusion on the front left and a patch of milky inclusion (1.5 x 0.5cm) to the underside. The jade is of a darker celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
