A STUDY COLLECTION OF JADE BELT HOOKS QING DYNASTY

comprising six variously carved belt hooks; one carved in the form of a sprig of lingzhi with a ruyi-shaped terminal and five others with dragon head terminals accompanied by clambering chilong or floral decoration

The lingzhi belt hook is in good condition. The dragon and flower belt hook is in general good condition with the exception of a 2mm scratch at the neck of the shaft near the floral decoration and a tiny fleck of black inclusion in the stone near the curved end. One dragon belt hook has several 2-5mm scratches and nibbles to the sides of the shaft and the attachment tab, and a 1cm natural loss to the stone on the underside near the knop. The other has a 1cm x 0.5cm chip to the attachment tab, there are natural russet inclusions particularly to the end of the bifurcated tail of the chilong and a natural brown speck on one of its foreleg. The yellow green dragon belt hook is in good condition. The w-shaped dragon belt hook is in general good condition with the exception of nibbling to the extremities of the central chilong medallion.
