Description

the exterior covered in a rich powder-blue glaze, finely painted in gilt with pheasants perched on leafy branches bearing large peony blossoms and song birds amongst leafy magnolia blossoms, all above a wavy border, the angled shoulders with floral sprays enclosed in lobed panels reserved against a wan diaper ground, the neck with two rectangular panels enclosing further floral blossoms, encircled around the lipped rim with a band of swirls

Condition

The vase has a 1 x 0.8cm bump on the cylindrical side near the pheasant head. There is overall slight wear to the gilding particularly near the top of the rectangular panels on the neck but the vase is otherwise in good condition.
