Description

each with shallow sides rising to a wide and everted rim, decorated to the central interior with Pronk's design, depicting a Chinese lady standing beneath the parasol held by her attendant and observing three water birds near bulrushes, the cavetto with a floral border and the honeycomb-patterned rim reserved with foliate scroll-edged cartouches of water birds alternating with panels of either the lady or her attendant, painted on the underside in underglaze-blue with seven winged insects

Condition
One dish has a 0.2 x 0.2cm glaze pull to the base, and two raised bumps (max. 0.2 x 0.2cm) to the underside. The other dish has approx. 2-3 short firing cracks to the base (max. 1.7cm). Both dishes in excellent condition with the exception of light surface scratchings (circa 1cm), slight rubbing to the gilt-rim, and other minor glaze firing imperfections including burst glaze bubbbles and iron spots etc.
