Description

each with a lobed ovoid body divided into various segments in imitation of bamboo, each section painted with leafy floral spray, all above a band of lotus lappets and below similarly decorated concentric rings, rising to a facetted tubular neck decorated with various diaper grounds, flanked at the sides with a pair of bamboo handles, the barbed rim encircled with a band of scrolls, all supported on a pierced octagonal stand raised on four bamboo feet, glazed in green, aubergine and yellow

Condition

The necks of both vases are restored with extensive overspray, overpainting is evident along the rims. There is a circa 0.4 x 0.3cm chip to one stand, and other minor nibbling to the edges of the other stand. Minor glaze firing imperfections include burst glaze bubbles, short firing cracks and iron spots etc.
