Description

each divided into eight lobes, painted with four shaped cartouches enclosing stylised chrysanthemum sprays above a band of pendent plantain leaves, all reserved against a trellis diaper ground, the shoulder moulded with two layers of petal lappets below a band of circles, the covers similarly decorated, all supported on a pierced octagonal stand raised on four legs, glazed in green, aubergine and yellow

Condition

There are two triangular chips (0.8 x 0.5cm each) to the rim of one vase. One cover with a 0.5 x 0.3cm chip to the rim, another cover completely restored. One stand broken into three parts in clean breaks, the other with a glaze chip measuring 1.5 x 0.5cm and general nibbling along the rim, the third with approx. four short firing cracks (circa 1cm each) and a chip (circa 1 x 0.0.8cm). Minor glaze firing imperfections include burst glaze bubbles, iron spots and short firing cracks etc.
