Description

painted in bright green, yellow and aubergine glazes, the animal standing foursquare with its head slightly turned to its right, set with a saddle and a bridle suspending small bells, its striated mane and tail lightly incised, on its right a groom stands wearing loose robes, trousers and a wide-brimmed hat, all raised on a rectangular plinth

Condition

The equestrian group is in fair overall condition with the exception of restoration to the shoulder area of the standing man, to the high relief reigns beneath the horses neck and to the ornament on its muzzle, to the saddle cloth to the left side of the horse, and to the end of the pendant on the bridle, there is also a 9cm., long hairline crack that runs up from the lower section of the front of the base and across the top around the horses rear hooves and a couple of minor firing cracks to the base. The detachable ears are missing.
