seated on a plinth moulded with swirls, his right foot slightly moved forward and his right hand grasping a scroll and lifted to his chest, dressed in a full armour with a cloak over one shoulder decorated with writhing dragons amid cloud scrolls, the unglazed face with a fierce expression with uplifted eyebrows and eyes and a long beard, surmounted by a helmet moulded with a tiger mask, glazed in green, yellow, aubergine and blue
Condition
Both side beards of the figure and the side tassels of the helmet are lost with clean breaks. The hands have been restored with overspray and cracks visible to the lower side. The back of the figure has a circa 5.5cm vertical hairline crack. Other glaze firing imperfections include firing cracks, burst glaze bubbles and iron spots etc.
