the cylindrical body gilded with shaped panels enclosing various landscape scenes or insects hovering amongst leafy floral branches, the shoulder encircled with further lobed cartouches against cellular diaper bands, similarly decorated in the neck with two rectangular panels with birds perched on prunus branches, the galleried rim and the bottom of the neck encircled with a keyfret border, skirted with petal lappets at the foot, all reserved on a mottled blue glaze, the base inscribed with a double circle

Condition

This vase in generally in good condition, but the base has been drilled for electricity and there is a second surface drill hole (5mm) which does not penetrate through the vase. There is some general rubbing to the gilding in various areas and there is a small burst bubble to the shoulder. There is a 2cm firing crack to the footrim.
