the rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to a flaring rim, decorated to the interior with a central circular medallion enclosing a ferocious qilin standing in a landscape by the shore with crashing turbulent waves, encircled with four shaped panels of butterflies and floral sprays, all reserved on a lotus pond with stylised lotus blooms, leaves and waterweeds, the rim bordered by lobed floral panels set against further leafy floral blooms on a dotted ground, inscribed with a square seal at the base

Condition

The rim partially polished with some associated losses to glaze. One short firing crack to rim, measurng approximately 3mm. Minor flaking to enamel and wear to gilding, otherwise the enamels very well retained. One firing crack (approxmately 6mm) and old small chips to foot ring. Bluett's label to base, and incised collector's number reading: N.107 I.
