A LARGE RETICULATED 'FAMILLE-VERTE' VASE QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD

of square section with tapering sides rising from a splayed foot, surmounted by angular shoulders and a waisted neck with flared and everted rim, the each side moulded and painted in bright enamels with two figures within a pavilion behind willow and prunus or bamboo and pine, all reserved on a reticulated honeycomb diaper ground, the foot and neck similarly decorated with high-relief figures and mythical beasts within shaped panels, the angular sides painted with iron-red and white prunus florets reserved on a green dotted ground, occasionally divided by horizontal keyfret bands, chevron borders and lotus scrolls

This large and impressive vase is in good overall condition with the exception of some minor areas of restoration to the extremities of the high relief figures within the square panels around the main body, small areas of missfiring to the reticulated background including uneven raised/sunken areas and some short firing cracks, restoration and overpainting to fritting along the edges of the rim and underside of the rim, a hairline crack to the foot (extending 4cm., up the exterior and 7cm., across the interior), minor enamel flakes and minor firing glaze imperfections and light glaze scratches.
