Description

each body of pear shape rising from a spreading foot to a slender waisted neck and flared rim, brightly enamelled with three roundels enclosing a dragon, qilin and mythical beast, reserved on a ground of meandering floret scrolls on a dotted ground, all below a band of leafy chrysanthemum scroll in iron-red, the neck enamelled with further chrysanthemum scrolls against a lemon-yellow ground, skirted at the foot with lobed cartouches enclosing half peony blooms on a diaper band

Condition

The vases are in generally excellent condition with the exception of minor surface scratchings and glaze firing imperfections such as burst glaze bubbles, minor crackling etc. The bases are burnt to a buff-orange colour in the firing.
