Description

of tapering cylindrical form raised on three cabriole legs glazed in deep blue, the sides pierced and carved with six cream-glazed lotus blooms with a touch of pink on the petal edges, reserved on a ground of turquoise-glazed serrated foliage, all below a blue-glazed band pierced with ten quatrefoil apertures framed by a turquoise-glazed raised filet and an everted lip

Condition

The tripod jardinière is in good condition with the exception of a circa 5 x 1cm restored area with repainting in the turquoise foliage between two of the lotus blooms, minute chips and nicks, short cracks to the pierced decoration (the longest measuring circa 3-4cm), and minor glaze firing imperfections such as bubbly glaze, iron spots, burst glaze bubbles etc.
