the deep rounded sides supported on a short foot, rising at an angle to an everted rim, painted to the exterior with four floral sprays with curly leafy tendrils, the interior with four iron-red outlined gilt character roundels reading 'wan shou wu jiang' ('may you live forever') around a shou character medallion encircled with cresting waves and stylised mountains, all reserved on a bright yellow ground with, all encircled with a keyfret band, similarly decorated on the domed cover, the top of the cover and the base inscribed with six-character iron-red Guangxu marks

Condition
There are three areas of firing imperfections on the exterior (0.4 x 0.8cm, 0.7 x 0.5cm and 0.5 x 0.1cm), possibly caused by impurities in the body. The interior has a 0.5 x 0.2cm chip to the enamel and a 0.3 x 0.3cm kiln grit near the centre. The gilding on the rim is rubbed in places. Other imperfections include burst glaze bubbles, iron spots and minor surface scratchings.
