the deep rounded sides rising from a straight foot to a lobed gilt rim, decorated to the exterior in bright enamels with the prestigious college Bailu Dong Shuyuan nestled among jagged rocks and pine trees, beside a five-peaked mountain emerging from clouds with a vertical inscription reading Wulao Feng (Mount of the Five Sages) beside another horizontal inscription reading Bailu Gudong (Old Cave of the White Deer), the base inscribed with a six-character Daoguang seal mark in iron-red

Condition

A restored rim chip, measuring approximately 8mm, with associated over-spraying extending approximately 35mm across rim directly over inscription. One faint 30mm crack to rim, directly above 'gu' character visible under UV light; and another faint star-crack to base.
