Description
- Porcelain
- each 14.7cm. diameter
each with rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to a lipped rim, enamelled to the exterior with three gilt-edged medallions each enclosing a fruiting tree, divided by vases of peony branches with various auspicious objects, all reserved on a bright lemon-yellow ground incised with feathery scrolls, the interior decorated in underglaze blue with a central medallion enclosing three rams encircled on the well by four detached fruiting and flowering sprays suspending Buddhist Emblems, inscribed to the base with a six-character Daoguang seal mark
Condition
The bowls are in very good condition. One bowl has a 1cm hairline to the interior near the rim, approx. three burst glaze bubbles and an iron spot to the interior. The other bowl has two minute (circa 0.1 x 0.1cm) areas of impurity fired as discoloured yellow and an iron spot to the interior.
