Description

of oval lobed form supported on four ridge feet picked out in gilt, the centre inscribed in iron-red with an imperial poem dated to dingsi year of Jiaqing's reign (corresponding to 1797), all within a gilt border and enclosed by a meander of lotus sprays and florets in bright enamels, the decoration repeated in the well and the exterior, all reserved on a lime-green ground continuing over the base save for a six-character iron-red Jiaqing seal mark left white

Condition

The dish is in excellent condition with the exception of very minor enamel loss and rubbing to the gilding. There are minor surface scratchings and glaze firing imperfections such as burst glaze bubbles.
