of oblong section, the deep rounded sides divided into four lobes, rising from a flaring and lipped foot to a gilt barbed rim, the exterior painted in bright enamels with a continuous frieze of ladies and children holding various auspicious objects and engaged in various activities including dancing, all set in a fenced garden with jagged rockwork, gnarled trees and distant mountains, the foot skirted with a band of stylised leafy lotus scrolls, painted to the interior with scattered fruiting sprays such as pomegranate, peach, Buddhist finger citron and lychees, the base glazed in turquoise save for the six-character iron-red Jiaqing seal mark left white
Condition
The lobed dish is in very good condition with the exception of a 4mm., diam., flake to the edge of the foot, three small glaze pulls to the interior (largest 10 x 3mm.) and light glaze scratches.
