the ovoid body rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck and flaring gilt rim, painted in bright enamels with scattered leafy sprays of large floral blooms including peony, lotus, rose, prunus and hibiscus, all reserved on a bright turquoise ground pencilled with grisaille markings simulating turquoise matrix

Condition

The base has a six-point star crack, the longest branch measuring 3cm. A circa 20cm hairline crack running down one side of the vase, concealed with overspray. Extensive surface scratchings, the longest measuring circa 3-4cm long. Minute chips and very slight rubbing to the gilt rim.
