the rounded sides rising from a straight foot to a flaring rim, the central medallion painted in bright enamels in an underglaze-blue outline with three stylised phoenixes around a leafy peony spray enclosed in a double line border repeated at the rim, the exterior similarly decorated with further phoenixes alternating with scrolling peony blooms above a band of C-shaped scrolls around the foot, inscribed to the base with a six-character Daoguang seal mark

Condition

In very good general condition. A cloudy grey inclusion in the glaze to the inner well.
