A PAIR OF GILT-BRONZE CLOISONNE ENAMEL FIGURES QING DYNASTY

each modelled standing  on two feet and a tubular support, the clasped hands covered in a voluminous long robe supporting a tray of tributes, the robe brightly enamelled with scattered butterflies reserved on a T-scroll diaper ground below ruyi-shaped pendent motifs at the shoulder, the neck collared with a further layer of gilt-bronze pendent ruyi lappets, the gilt-bronze face depicted with thick curly eyebrows, plump cheeks and a straight nose, all framed by neatly combed hair gathered into a chignon atop

There are general enamel loss, pinprick holes and deposits of verdegris to the bronze. One with the plate of tribute detached from the figure, leaving two circular apertures each measuring 0.2 x 0.2cm. There is a knowck to the left shoulder with associated cracks measuring circa 3cm long. The back of the hair shows enamel loss which has now been refilled. The eyebrows and eyes also show losses to the gilt-bronze framework and enamels. The other one with a knock to the right shoulder, associated with a 1cm crack. There are losses to the bronze wires to the hair and associated refilled enamels. The hem of the robe at the base has minor loss, the largest area measuring 2 x 0.4cm. The ears are each pierced with an aperture measuring 0.2 x 0.2cm, possibly attached with earrings which are now lost.
