Description

  • bronze
raised on three blade-form legs, the deep rounded sides rising to a wide everted rim with U-shaped spout and pair of capped posts rising from the rim, cast around the body two taotie masks, one mask centred on a C-scroll handle, with extensive malachite and azurite encrustation

Collection of Arthur M. Sackler, acquired prior to 1978.

Condition

There are extensive malachite and azurite encrustations throughout the surface of the jue, and minor nibbling and nicks along the edges.
