Description
- Procelain
of stoutly potted circular section, the rounded sides supported on tripod ruyi-shaped feet, encircled by a band of studs repeated between raised ribs on the slightly incurved rim, applied with a rich finely speckled purple glaze to the exterior thinning on the raised details and on the feet, the purple glaze on the interior with a milky-lavender tinge and several 'worm tracks', the base incised with the Chinese character liu (six) and encircled around the footrim by numerous spur marks
Condition
The bowl has been broken into two halves, the crack running across the centre of the bowl (visible both interior and exterior) has now been filled. There are 20 circular spur marks to the base of the bowl. There are a 0.5 x 0.5cm burst glaze bubble and a 3cm scratch to the interior, minor repainted glaze chips (circa 0.5 x 0.2cm) to one of the studs at the top, and other smaller burst glaze bubbles.
