Description

of rectangular form, carved to one face in low relief with a scholar observing two ducks in a pond, behind him an acolyte standing beneath a willow tree, the reverse with a long inscription and signed Zi Gang, all below a pair of addorsed archaistic dragons, pierced to the top edge for suspension; together with a small ruyi sceptre naturalistically carved in the form of a gnarled branch terminating to a stippled lingzhi head perched by a bat with open wings, the stem encircled with entwined leafy branches bearing smaller lingzhi heads, the stones of even white tone

Condition

The jade plaque in very good condition; the stone of an even pale green tone with very faint cloudy white inclusions; the ruyi sceptre with small chips to extremities, the stone of an even white tone with opaque cloudy white inclusions.
