- lacquer/Pinctada Maxima
of square form, the interior inlaid with a landscape scene with two figures drinking and eating under a half moon at the riverbank with pine, wutong and plantains, behind an acolyte fanning a stone pot, the flaring sides decorated with leafy flowering sprays repeated in the exterior, the base with inscribed with a ye seal within a square
Condition
Chips to lacquer, particularly to the four corners, with a chip to middle of top rim, measuring approximately 5mm across. Some losses to the inlaid metal wire border, particularly to the upper and lower right hand sides. Cracks to the lacquer surface to all four sides, and some surface scratching. Some small losses to mother-of-pearl inlay and a network of shallow lacquer cracks to the base.
