A CELADON JADE 'CABBAGE AND COCKEREL' VASE QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

carved upright with a beetle perched on large curled leaves hollowed at the top to form the receptacle, beside a further smaller cabbage, with a standing cockerel to the right, his feathers and the leafy veins of the cabbage lightly incised, all raised on jagged rocks, the stone in a pale celadon tone with russet veining

Condition

The vase have two chips (0.4 x 0.1cm and 0.9 x 0.1cm respectively) to the larger cabbage and another 1 x 0.3cm chip to the smaller cabbage on the reverse. There are minor nibbling along the edges.
