the compressed globular body carved in low relief with meandering leafy lotus scrolls, raised on three cabriole animal mask legs to an incurved rim, the shoulder set with a large pair of pierced leafy dragon handles suspending loose rings, the domed cover similarly carved and surmounted by a flattened circular knop pierced with further scrolling blooms, the stone of dark olive-green tone with black flecking, carved wood stand

Condition

The censer has several areas of loss around the leafy tips of the scrolling lotus across the body and minor chips to the curved edges of the leafy dragon handles but is otherwise in very good condition.
