Description
- jade with lapis lazuli in the tassel
naturalistically carved with a large lingzhi terminal with two smaller attendant lingzhi heads, the slender shaft modelled in the form of a gnarled stem intertwined with prunus and smaller lingzhi heads, the stone of pale celadon tone suffused with milky inclusions to create a snowflake effect, attached with a yellow tassel with knotted decoration
Condition
There is a 1 x 0.2cm area of loss to the top of the prunus branch on the shaft and minor nibbling along the extremities of the carving. The ruyi sceptre is in otherwise good condition with the exception of natural veining with associated flakes.
