A CELADON JADE CARVING OF A CRAB QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

clutching a leafy sprig of millet in its claws, nestled within a large curled lotus leaf issuing from a beribboned bundle with further leaves and a lotus bloom rising up the sides, the pale celadon stone carved through the caramel russet skin; together with a celadon and black jade recumbent dog accompanied by a wood stand, and a Song-style black and white jade magpie, grasping a blossoming prunus branch in its beak

All three carvings are in good condition with the exception of minor nicks natural to the stone. The crab and the dog are of a slightly more celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
