Description

two well carved in openwork, depicting egrets amidst intertwined leafy lotus stems bearing pods and blossoms, the stones of even pale green tone, the third similarly worked with a dragon emerging from intertwined leafy lotus stems, the stone of a pale green and brown tone, the bases pierced for attachment

Condition

The smaller finial decorated with egrets has minor chips along the leafy edges and nibbling along the base, the tip of the crown of the top egret is broken off, leaving a clean break measuring 0.3 x 0.2cm. The stone is of a slightly more celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration. The larger finial with egret has minor chips to the leafy tips and nibbling along the edges. The stone is of a slightly more celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration. Two-thirds of one horn of the dragon on the third finial is lost, the other horn has its tip and a circa 0.5 x 0.2cm area chipped and lost. A 0.8 x 0.7cm area of a lotus blossom to one side of the finial is lost. The stone is of a slightly darker tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
