Description

  • Jade
comprising: a large pale green jade and russet openwork oval belt buckle, finely worked with a large egret in flight amidst intertwined lotus stems, the reverse with an oval mount for attachment in imitation of a bamboo stem, Yuan/Ming Dynasty; a pale green jade 'Buddhist lion' belt buckle, 18th/19th century; two pale green jade pendants depicting boys on dragon carp, 18th/19th century; and a white jade 'butterfly' pendant, 19th century

Condition

The oval belt buckle with an egret has several areas of chip to the leafy edges and extremities (the largest area measuring 0.7 x 0.1cm). The five plaques are in general good condition with the exception of minor nibbling along the extremities.
