the compressed globular body rising from a tapering foot to a short neck, painted to the exterior with a bird perched on a reed growing among tall camellia sprays and bamboo rooted in rockwork, the reverse with two further birds and an insect in flight above a shrub, the low domed cover with a similar scene of two birds perched among foliage

Condition
The jar and cover are in very good condition with the exception of an 8mm., long firing line at the rim of the jar, glaze scratches predominantly to the exterior edge of the cover and minor glaze firing imperfections including a burst glaze bubble on the cover.
