Description

  • ivory
of rectangular form with rounded corners, carved in low relief to the front face with two entwined chilong, the reverse with nine cranes around a lotus pond, both scenes framed by a keyfret border, pierced to the top for suspension, the ivory patinated to a golden brown tone

Condition

The pendant has extensive vertical age cracks which are now stained black with dirt, the ivory is patinated to a russet brown colour and the surface is lightly scratched.
