  • Porcelain
of square section rising from a ring foot to a short tapering neck, moulded on the sides in relief with a pair of elephant head handles suspending fixed rings, covered overall with a rich purplish blue glaze, inscribed to the base with a six-character Guangxu mark

Condition

Two glaze pulls, on either side of the elephant's ears, as can be seen in the catalogue image, the largest glaze pulls measuring approximately 6mm by 6mm. A small unglazed section to the shoulder, suggesting contact during the firing process, measuring approximately 3mm by 3mm. Otherwise in good condition, with some surface wear.
