Description

of square section rising from a ring foot to a short tapering neck, moulded on the sides in relief with a pair of elephant head handles suspending fixed rings, covered overall with a rich purplish blue glaze, inscribed to the base with a six-character Qianlong seal mark, with wood stand and Japanese wooden box

Condition

In excellent condition, with the exception of minor surface scratchings (1-2cm each), two glaze pulls (largest 0.4 x 0.2cm) at the foot, minute glaze chips and minor glaze firing imperfections such as burst glaze bubbles and a minor firing crack (circa 1cm) near one of the elephant handles.
