Description

  • porcelain painted with cobalt-blue
the ovoid body rising from a short splayed foot to a tall waisted neck with a flared rim, covered overall with a blue glaze leaving a white edge around the rim, the base inscribed with a six-character Qianlong seal mark

Condition

The vase has a 0.8cm x 0.4cm chip to the underside of the rim and a circa 2.3cm crack filled with discoloured yellow glue running horizontally along the rim. There are vertical (circa 17cm to 19cm) hairlines running along the body with associated horizontal hairlines, and extensive scratchings across the surface.
