Description

of archaic bronze form, the central knopped section vigorously incised with scrolling peony divided by four vertical flanges, the tall splayed foot and high flared neck each encircled by a band of stiff leaves, all surmounted by the lipped mouth, applied overall with a rich turquoise glaze pooling to darker blue in the recesses of the decoration

Condition

In good general condition. Minor firing imperfections, including a firing flaw to the inside of mouth rim, measuring approximately 3mm wide; and burst air bubbles. The glaze thining in areas, such as to raised flanged, to reveal the pale body beneath. The glaze with a faint crackle. Minor surface wear.
