elaborately and finely carved and undercut in the form of a melon, the center reticulated with a scene of a lady seated underneath a plantain tree with an attendant to her left with an offering, in front of the pavilion with an attendant peering from behind the screen, the reverse with a lady holding a fan beneath a pine tree with a bird perched on a branch in the garden outside the pavilion, the top rendered as gnarled stalk with various crickets nestled amongst the leaves, extending to leafy vines trailing down the lobed sides, four leaves at the tip of the vines folded to form the feet, the ivory of honey tone with smooth patina
