of shallow circular form, carved in the round as a rounded ruyi with foliate-shaped rim, the exterior carved with bats in flight amidst gnarled lingzhi issuing from leafy stems, enveloping the bowl and forming a natural support, wood stand (2)

Presented as a gift to the grandfather of the current owner in the 1920s (by repute).
Condition
In overall very good condition. The edge of the ruyi in the interior may have been slightly polished. The actual color of the piece is slightly darker than shown in the catalogue.
