- white jade
finely carved in the round as a boy dressed in a loose-fitting gown kneeling before a goose with his right hand stroking the bird, his slightly turned head carved with a broad smiling face and his hair tied in two topknots, the stone of a even pale celadon tone with russet splashes
Condition
There are two small 0.5 cm areas of bruising at the left knee and foot of the boy. There is a 2 inch vertical fissure running the back of the boy which comes through to the surface. The actual color of the piece is slightly more celadon than shown in the catalogue.
