A PAIR OF CLOISONNE ENAMEL MOON FLASKS QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

each of flattened spherical form supported on an splayed foot, surmounted with a bulbous neck with a flared galleried rim, the shoulders set with elaborately cast and gilded dragon handles, the body richly on both sides with large peony flowers in in vibrant red, pink, blue and yellow, amidst smaller blooms and leafy stems and between rockwork, all above keyfret borders around the foot and against a bright milky turquoise-blue ground (2)

Moon flasks of this form and size, similarly decorated with multi-colored floral design and gilt-bronze dragon handles, were sold in our London rooms, 13th July 2005, lot 218 and at Christie's Hong Kong, 29th October 1995, lot 632.
