the rectangular field with mirrored images of a pagoda rising from a bed of crested waves, flanked by a pair of cranes, enclosed on two sides by a band of auspicious emblems, and with a lishu border along the the upper and lower edges, an inscription within a rectangular cartouche Qian Qing Gong bei yong ('Made for use in the Palace of Heavenly Peace') to the top
Condition
Pile ranges from approximately 1/6 inch matted down to low to knotheads in scattered small foldwear areas, some showing minor spot foundation. Ends with flatwoven finishes and some tied-on silk fringes. Sides with original one-cord cotton selvageds. Flexible handle, good overall condition.
