of flattened tapering form with a flaring foot and waisted neck, the body carved and undercut on one side with a flowering tree peony issuing from craggy rockwork, the neck set with a pair of scroll handles suspending loose rings, the matching cover surmounted with a crested phoenix attached by a jade chain in its beak, the stone an even white color, carved wood stand (2)

The vase and chained cover are in overall very good condition. There is a very small chip to the mouthrim of the cover and a small chip to the tip of the finial.There is a small 1/8 inch area at the foot which has been polished down. The actual color of the vase is slightly more celadon than shown in the photograph.
