Description

of compressed spherical form with an oval foot and flat mouth, delicately enamelled around the body with nine quails in various pursuits, all amongst blooming roses and asters borne on leafy branches in a craggy landscape, below a zigzag band of ruyi heads and floral motifs, above a further ruyi-head border around the foot, the slightly countersunk base inscribed with a four-character reign mark in blue enamel on a white ground

Condition

There is a 0.5 cm flake that has been repainted below the mouth and 1.5 cm area near the base with some flakes which has been slightly stabilised. There is also some wear to the gilding at the mouth and foot.
