Large 8vo (9 1/2 x 6 7/8 ins; 245 x 170 mm).  Illustrated with gravure plates in 3 states after Frederick Simpson Coburn and numerous head and tail ornaments of nouveau and gothic inspiration. Full deep green morocco gilt, sides with single gilt fillet surrounding and double-ruled panel with a stylized gilt hillock with large foliate gilt tools and a bud with inset red morocco emerging from the top, gilt-ruled morocco turn-ins and silk doublures, spine gilt in six panels with raised bands vine and foliate tooling in the panels and a repeat of bud device in the bottom panel, top edge gilt; an extraordinarily well-preserved, unrubbed set.
